Our mission is to empower all student-athletes academically, spiritually, and professionally through instructional services, academic advising, and leadership and life skills initiatives to inspire independent and lifelong learning.
Doubling as both a study space and a counselling center, the Built4Life Student Athlete Center exists to ensure you have the support you need to thrive as a student-athlete. Our goal is to empower you to achieve your own success in both academics and athletics so you can become a leader in your chosen field. We provide resources for your education, including hands-on instruction and one-on-one mentoring, and guidance related to career planning and professional advancement. We hope that through our shared experiences, you'll develop a lifetime love of learning, the tenacity to achieve great things, and the courage to stand for your faith and ideals.
We empower you to succeed. Since 2022, our student-athletes have held a higher GPA than ever before in BYU history, with the 2023 Winter Semester breaking all previous records at a collective 3.14 GPA. That year, 100% of our student-athletes graduated. Of those graduates, 197 were academic all-conference honorees, while 76 student-athletes made the 2023 Big 12 Honor Roll. Our student-athletes won prestigious awards in every field, led by football, women's track and field, and women's swim and dive, including the NCAA's Elite 90 award and Big 12 Scholar Athlete of the Year. Our department ended the year with a combined APR score of 954. We fervently believe these numbers will only increase as our student-athletes continue to improve.
The Built4Life program was founded in 2020 during changes to NIL as an answer and promise to support student-athlete professional growth. We go beyond assisting student-athletes in academics or athletics, providing critical career development and mentorship to all our players. We proudly support individual NIL efforts, whether it be starting a social media following, growing a personal brand, or launching a start-up company. By uniting coaches, administrators, and decades of experience, we have made it so every student-athlete at BYU has an equal opportunity to find and excel at their future career. Ultimately, our goal is to help our players become better people, not just athletes, as they pursue a lasting and impactful career.
